Is it normal to sort of....black out for a week? Because last time I checked, it was still February. And now it's not.

[A pause.]

And no, I didn't drink myself stupid or anything like that for a week straight. I haven't done that in a while.

[...not that anyone asked, but he feels the need to dispel that idea.]

And even if I did, I usually don't remember things I'm pretty sure I didn't remember before.

[He's not going into detail there.]

Which brings up another question. There's no giant mascot rampages here, right? Because I really need that to not be a problem in life. Again. Ever.

[He's actually not too sure of that, but he thinks it's just the one.]

But he's not going to be doing it again anytime soon. Probably.

[Because Kaine sort of ruined the suit and then hit him. A lot.]

And yeah, like I said, I don't remember the last week, woke up today, and remembered...a bunch of new stuff.

[And not all of it involved punching a failed professional basketball mascot.]

Ah. Okay then. In my world, we had to deal with dozens of them once.

[Worst amusement park ever.]

Huh. So, what did you remember? anything of note?

Yeah. A lot of stuff.

[That's all he's saying. He's not elaborating further on his complete failure at being a hero followed by fleeing to Mexico.]

None of it matters here though.

Right. It doesn't matter in this world.

Yeah, that's the one nice thing about this place, I guess. Doesn't matter if some jackass is going to kill the world or a guy in a bear suit's on a rampage, it just doesn't matter here.

[Which also means his fuckups and mistakes don't matter either. But he's never getting over those, so that doesn't matter.]

All that matters here is whatever Pokemon you catch or whatever stupid shit is going on this week.

[That was a quick denial.

But yeah, nothing. His life sure didn't spin into an uncontrolled nosedive followed by Mexico adventures followed by joining a group of teenage superheroes as the grumpy old guy who doesn't want to do anything or be there.]

And I'll be fine. What's it matter to you anyway?

I ended up going back somewhere I never thought I would. Somewhere I didn't really think I could go back to. And they basically welcomed me back. I've...never had that happen before. Ever.
