How long does it take to get through this stupid forest?

[...oh wait, it'd probably help if the people watching could actually see the forest. So Kaine'll just turn on the video and there's well, a bunch of trees. It's the Viridian Forest, so yeah, not much to see here besides a forest. And bugs. There's a bunch of bug Pokemon crawling around on the trees.]

It took two days to get here, I've been in here for three, and I pretty much never want to see a forest again for the rest of my life.

[He's only even in here because his Pokemon stole his pack and dragged it out of town. Because if he had things his way, he would've stayed in Viridian City forever. But noooo, his Natu just had to get tired of staying there and drag him in here.]

So that's been what? Five days since I left town? And I've spent most of them walking, so the next town has to be coming up soon...right?

[He doesn't sound confident about that at all. And why should he? For all he knows, the map's lying and this forest just goes on and on forever. Because that...doesn't exactly sound like something that could happen here, but at the same time he wouldn't really be surprised if it actually did somehow happen to him.]

Five days isn't much. Then again I had a partner that I could ride on so it never took that long to get anywhere.

Yeah, well, I don't have anything like that. And if five days isn't bad what is? And where is it so I can avoid the hell out of it?

Forests and caves. They take a lot of time and you can get lost. The Ice Path is pretty long and cold.

So stay away from caves, forests, and some ice covered hellhole. Got it.

Easier said than done. You pretty much have to go through 'em at some point.

Well, what if I just decide to stay in the next city I get to? Problem solved.

[Unless his Pokemon makes him head out again...huh, maybe this isn't as good a plan as he thinks.]

That'd work! ...If that's what you really want to do. Honestly the easiest solution is to just raise a Ponyta or another Pokémon that you can ride.

No. No way in hell am I riding a horse again.

Are there things that aren't horses, bugs, or giant metal death crabs?

Onyx would work. I'd say Torterra too, but I walk faster than Twigs moves sometimes.

And those look like...what, exactly?

One's a turtle and the other is kind of a giant rock snake thing?

...I don't think I've seen either of those.

I could always try to get you a Turtwig egg. It'd be pretty strong. Or the Breeding Center could have one!

Onyx can be found in any cave. It's pretty common.

[He's trying to picture himself taking care of an egg and just...no. No way. Absolutely not.]

I mean I appreciate the offer, but I'm not hatching eggs. Or going in caves. So I'll just stick to walking.

Kinda won't have a choice. About the cave thing. In Kanto you kind of have to use either the path through Mt. Moon or Diglett's Cave.

Johto? You'll have no choice but to go through Ice Path.

No, I'm pretty sure I do have a choice. And that choice is getting my ass out of here to the next town and staying the hell there.

Which town is next for you?

The map says it's Pewter.

You're better off staying in either Viridian or Cerulean. They're at least bigger with more things to do.

It's a little late to head back to Viridian.

[Or at least he thinks it is. He left five days ago, so he really doesn't want to spend another five days walking back.]

Then you're just gonna have to go through Mt. Moon. It shouldn't take as long as Viridian Forest at least.
