How long does it take to get through this stupid forest?

[...oh wait, it'd probably help if the people watching could actually see the forest. So Kaine'll just turn on the video and there's well, a bunch of trees. It's the Viridian Forest, so yeah, not much to see here besides a forest. And bugs. There's a bunch of bug Pokemon crawling around on the trees.]

It took two days to get here, I've been in here for three, and I pretty much never want to see a forest again for the rest of my life.

[He's only even in here because his Pokemon stole his pack and dragged it out of town. Because if he had things his way, he would've stayed in Viridian City forever. But noooo, his Natu just had to get tired of staying there and drag him in here.]

So that's been what? Five days since I left town? And I've spent most of them walking, so the next town has to be coming up soon...right?

[He doesn't sound confident about that at all. And why should he? For all he knows, the map's lying and this forest just goes on and on forever. Because that...doesn't exactly sound like something that could happen here, but at the same time he wouldn't really be surprised if it actually did somehow happen to him.]

Three days in a forest...that seems kind of rough! But the routes here do tend to go on for a while. That's why a lot of people tend to not want to go them alone...

Most routes do tend to take around three or four days or so to get through, though, I think! But if it's a really big forest, you might be walking around for a little longer than that...

I can talk you through walking it, if you want some company! I'm still kinda trudging my way over to Goldenrod, myself. That hurricane not too long ago set me back a bit...

[Because he has absolutely no idea how long these things take. The ferry to Kanto was three days, the route between Pallet and Viridian took two, and then this decided to become the neverending journey through the bug infested forest.]

I want to say at least five tops...but since I'm in Johto, I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure. I'm sorry. I wish I could be a little more helpful...

My fault for taking the ferry I guess. Didn't think this was uncharted wilderness, but from the people I've talked to before, it seems like nobody goes this way.

Yeah it is, and I thought it was clear that I don't. Didn't used to care, but that was before the three day trek through trees infested with what appear to be every single bug in existence ever.

Anyway, from what I've heard, s'worst than Ilex... and that takes 5 days on a good week. Hope ya packed enough.

Well, I can't say I blame you for wanting to take the road less traveled. It sounds like it'd be fun! And Kanto has a lot of cute Pokemon, so I'd love to go there at some point. I guess you just have to get through the forest first. Take the good and the bad, really.

If you're THAT badly lost, you could always burn the forest down.

Once it was done, one way or the other you wouldn't be lost anymore.

[He's not even sure why he said that out loud. He wasn't planning on telling anyone about that.]

I swear to god if I starve to death...

[He's not actually sure what he'd do then. Haunt his Pokemon maybe. Or respawn in the Pokemon Center and have to come back to this forest.]

Yer bird packed yer bag? [At the very least, Joker doesn't say it like it's anything out of the ordinary. His Pokemon are probably more responsible than him half the time anyway.] Might wanna see if they'll let ya check it then.

[Road less traveled, hah. He just thought the ferry would get him somewhere better than New Bark Town without having to walk.

Hasn't really been fun so far. Just annoying.

[He'd be lying if he said he hadn't thought about it. Which is why he's not going to admit to thinking about it. After all, he's not trying to be that person anymore.]

I'm not burning the forest down. I definitely don't want to be here, but that's completely ridiculous. Also pretty damn stupid.

[And with his luck, even if he did, he'd still be lost. Also on fire.]

[He's still not really doing the whole...Pokemon thing, so stuff like that usually isn't on his to do list.]

And I'd have to find her first to check. Stupid thing mostly hops around. No idea how it got that far ahead of me.

[Especially given that Natu is tiny and it can't be moving very fast while it's dragging a backpack around.]

You know, this whole thing is why I don't get the majority of the people here. Why on earth would anyone go out of their way to go anywhere here?

[Because this sucks and if he could get out of looking for his Pokemon he would. ...but he can't, so the camera's moving around as he walks. Sorry about the shaky cam there, Joker.]

Besides, there are things ta do like those gyms or just sightseein'. Not ta mention travelin' is generally what ya have ta do if yer lookin' ta live in one a the bigger cities.

Well, you only just started, right..? Maybe it's one of those things that starts off a little slow but gets really good the further you go into it! I can understand why you'd be annoyed, though. No one wants to be in the same place for way too long, take it from me.

Five days isn't much. Then again I had a partner that I could ride on so it never took that long to get anywhere.

That's part of it, I guess. More the lack of a bus or something. There's boats and I heard something about a train somewhere, but there's no bus? The hell's with that? Even some sort of Pokemon bus...thing would make things a hell of a lot better.

I don't know about that. I'd sure like to stay in the same place for a while. Just not here. Or any of the other towns I've been in.

...okay, Viridian wasn't that bad, I guess. But still not my first pick of places to stay.
