How long does it take to get through this stupid forest?

[...oh wait, it'd probably help if the people watching could actually see the forest. So Kaine'll just turn on the video and there's well, a bunch of trees. It's the Viridian Forest, so yeah, not much to see here besides a forest. And bugs. There's a bunch of bug Pokemon crawling around on the trees.]

It took two days to get here, I've been in here for three, and I pretty much never want to see a forest again for the rest of my life.

[He's only even in here because his Pokemon stole his pack and dragged it out of town. Because if he had things his way, he would've stayed in Viridian City forever. But noooo, his Natu just had to get tired of staying there and drag him in here.]

So that's been what? Five days since I left town? And I've spent most of them walking, so the next town has to be coming up soon...right?

[He doesn't sound confident about that at all. And why should he? For all he knows, the map's lying and this forest just goes on and on forever. Because that...doesn't exactly sound like something that could happen here, but at the same time he wouldn't really be surprised if it actually did somehow happen to him.]

I want to say at least five tops...but since I'm in Johto, I wouldn't be able to tell you for sure. I'm sorry. I wish I could be a little more helpful...

My fault for taking the ferry I guess. Didn't think this was uncharted wilderness, but from the people I've talked to before, it seems like nobody goes this way.

Well, I can't say I blame you for wanting to take the road less traveled. It sounds like it'd be fun! And Kanto has a lot of cute Pokemon, so I'd love to go there at some point. I guess you just have to get through the forest first. Take the good and the bad, really.

[Road less traveled, hah. He just thought the ferry would get him somewhere better than New Bark Town without having to walk.

Which it didn't.]

Hasn't really been fun so far. Just annoying.

[He thinks for a moment.]

Well, you only just started, right..? Maybe it's one of those things that starts off a little slow but gets really good the further you go into it! I can understand why you'd be annoyed, though. No one wants to be in the same place for way too long, take it from me.

I don't know about that. I'd sure like to stay in the same place for a while. Just not here. Or any of the other towns I've been in.

[A pause.]

...okay, Viridian wasn't that bad, I guess. But still not my first pick of places to stay.

I guess it depends on where the place is? And what you mean by 'a while'. So far, none of the towns in Johto I've been to seem all that bad. There's a beautiful park right between Violet and Goldenrod...

It's a really nice place! They have a Bug-Catching Contest every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I'm thinking of entering the next one! They release certain Bug-type Pokemon that you can only find during the contest.

You can't find them here? Because it pretty much looks like every bug there is lives in this forest.

I don't know! Have you seen one that looks kinda like a queen bee? I've been looking for that one especially, but I can't seem to find them!

Don't think I've seen any bees.

[He's seen a ton of weird caterpillar things though. And those ones with spikes on their heads. And a few other bugs.]

You don't have to apologize, it's more than fine..! I don't think it's exactly very common, after all. But having a Pokemon that's a Queen on my team...

I dunno, having another reminder of my sister would be awfully nice.

[Or brothers, actually. ...and he sort of said that without thinking, so he'll just try and move away from that topic really quickly.]

Well, I appreciate you keeping an eye out! I don't want you in that forest for any longer than you have to be. It even has a form before it becomes a Queen, as well...it looks kinda like this!

Isn't it cute? But apparently, only the girl ones can evolve and become queens. Makes sense, right?

[And yet he's met a giant electricity monster, werewolves, and a bunch of other weird stuff. He's not sure what that says about his life.]
